Applesauce Carrot Cake

Ingredient -

- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Ground allspice
- 1 cup Applesauce
- 1/2 cup Butter or margarine -- softened
- 2 each Eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Grated carrots
- 1 cup Chopped walnuts

-----FROSTING-----

- 3 ounces Cream cheese -- softened
- 2 cups Sifted confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons (to 3) Applesauce

Preparation Method

Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and spices in large mixer bowl. Add applesauce and butter; beat 2 minutes at medium speed,scraping bowl and beaters occasionally. Add eggs; beat 2 minutes.Stir in carrots and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes, until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool; frost with

CREAMY APPLE FROSTING:

Beat cream cheese. Beat in sugar and applesauce until smooth.
